Contrast (Order and Chaos)
  • Contrast (Order and Chaos)

    SKU: 366

Escher was fascinated by the organized structure of the microscopic world.  Even obects in disarray or broken, are comprised of highly organized (often symmetric or tessellated, if you will).  The stellated dodecahedron in the center demonstrates the invisible order and the chaos surrounding it contains it, believe it or not.

Incidentally, the stellated dodecahedron in the center was used for the lithograph Gravity.
