Vase

Escher captures the essence of a curved vase with parallel white lines and sets them off perpendicularly from the background "spotlight."  Gerber daisies overflow with life, albeit fleeting.  

 

The epigram reads:

You are aware of what we will lose: we die an early death to feast your eyes.
