Santa Severina, Calabria

Santa Severina, Calabria

SKU: 144

Escher spent 11 years in Italy and traveled the southern part of the country extensively.  This is one of his 13 Calabrian works.  By coincidence, it is also where my great grandmother was born.

Escher captured old Santa Severina's fairy-tale characteristics.  It is a charming, but walled hill-top city, safe from marauders and vulnerable only to dragons.

This uncommon work is available. Please inquire.
