Tropea, Calabria
SKU: 143
Escher spent 11 years in Italy and traveled the southern part of the country extensively. This is one of his 13 Calabrian works. Tropea is nicknamed "The Pearl of the Mediterranean" with its layered cliffs rising from white sand beaches and turquoise waters. The unique cliffs stunned Escher into recreating a faithul rendition of the cityscape sprouting from the rising rocks.
